The Power Sector is any conventional form of power generation utilizing primarily hydrocarbons as a source of fuel (i.e. oil, gas or solid fuels) but large scale renewables such as Hydroelectric can also be addressed in this segment as sometimes where possible energy storage can be achieved via using excess power to pump water to a reservoir to be later used to generate electricity via turbines. There are many synergies between Power generation and Water treatment and transmission as water is often and integral part of power generation, with that water treatment (i.e Desalination) and transmission (pumping) is an energy intensive process
