Power Transmission is generally the evacuation and transfer of power from the source (generation location) over long distances to the areas where the power is needed within a region to the local distribution level and voltage levels are generally >100KV. Distribution of power is at a lower voltage level (1KV and above) and is the distribution of power within an area network to deliver power to smaller localized areas.
